TRK Playground Safety, LLC

Our goals are your goals.

Since our goal, like yours, is that playgrounds remain safe havens for children and their families, we have developed specialized action plans for:

• Audit of New Playgrounds

Our Playground Safety Audit is a comprehensive document that will assist you in identifying a wide range of playground hazards based on the C.P.S.C. Handbook for Public Playground Safety and the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) F1487-98. Once completed, this audit can be used in many ways to reduce safety concerns and help develop long-term strategies.

Surface Attenuation Impact Testing

• Surface Attenuation Impact Testing

The Impact Attenuation Surface Test will give the owner/operator an understanding of the playground's protective surfacing. The report shall be descriptive to assist the owner in determining compliance with contracts and standards. The ASTM F-1292 standard set maximum values as the Gmax shall not exceed 200 and the HIC shall not exceed 1,000 from the drop height stipulated by the owner/operator.

• Periodic Low-Frequency Inspections

Low-Frequency Inspections should be conducted on a scheduled basis to evaluate the structures wear concerns at each site. Consideration for the existing condition of the equipment, environmental conditions, age, use factor and vandalism will be combined on one inspection form.

• Inservicing of Personnel and Community

A block of instruction can be provided to point out the twelve leading causes of injury on playground equipment. The inservice would consist of a lecture, film, handouts, and question and answer time.
TRK Playground Safety - are you in compliance?

California's Playground Safety Law:
Are you in compliance?

As of January 1, 2000, California legislation SB 2733 and AB 1055 requires that all playground equipment areas accessible to the public (at schools, in parks or childcare/commercial facilities) be audited/inspected for safety. While it can be difficult to wade through the legal necessities that this entails, it is the responsibility of anyone who owns or manages an accessible playground. Where we excel is in making these laws understandable and manageable.
Please feel free to contact us and we will answer any questions you may have regarding your existing playground or one you may be designing.

It would be our pleasure to meet with you at your site to talk about your project or needs to make your playground safe for ALL children!
